Labradorite is a type of feldspar mineral that forms deep within the Earth’s crust in igneous rocks, especially in slowly cooling magma chambers. Labradorite forms when aluminum and silica-rich materials combine under high heat and pressure and then slowly cool. Its distinctive shimmering effect, known as labradorescence, happens when light reflects off thin internal layers inside the crystal.
Historically, Indigenous peoples of the Labrador region in Canada were among the first to describe and use the stone. Labradorite is often called a “stone of change” and is believed to help during periods of personal growth or uncertainty. Some spiritual practices claim it enhances intuition, imagination, and mental clarity. The magical shimmer of these stones are a great fit for any magical character.
