Stone Goblin
Small Humanoid (Goblinoid), Neutral Evil
Stone Goblins are a peculiar goblin breed that dwell among rocky hills, mountain passes, and cave entrances. Their skin resembles rough granite, and when they remain perfectly still they are nearly indistinguishable from ordinary boulders. Travelers often mistake them for harmless stones until the creatures suddenly spring to life.
Although surprisingly resilient and difficult to hit, Stone Goblins are physically frail and rely heavily on ambush tactics. A single solid blow is often enough to send one tumbling.

Traits
Boulder Camouflage
If the Stone Goblin remains motionless for at least 1 minute among rocks or rubble, it is indistinguishable from a small boulder.
A creature must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom (Perception) check to notice the goblin before it moves.
Rocky Hide
The Stone Goblin's skin is naturally hard as stone, granting it an AC of 18 despite its small size.
Crumbling Constitution
Whenever the Stone Goblin takes bludgeoning damage, it has vulnerability to that damage.
Actions
Stone Club
Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target.
Hit: (1d4 + 2) bludgeoning damage.
Pebble Toss
Ranged Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, range 30/120 ft., one target.
Hit: (1d4) bludgeoning damage.
Bonus Action
Rolling Boulder
The Stone Goblin suddenly curls into a compact ball, locking its rocky plates together before hurling itself across the battlefield. The Stone Goblin curls into a stone sphere and rolls up to 20 feet in a straight line without provoking opportunity attacks.
If it moves at least 10 feet and enters a creature's space during this movement, the target must succeed on a DC 12 Dexterity saving throw or take (1d4 + 1) bludgeoning damage and be knocked prone. The Stone Goblin then ends its movement in an unoccupied space adjacent to the target.
Description
Stone Goblins evolved in rocky terrain where larger predators hunted ordinary goblins. Over generations their skin hardened into stone-like plates, allowing them to survive attacks that would kill their cousins.
Unfortunately, this adaptation came at a cost. Their dense bodies are brittle and prone to cracking when struck with sufficient force.
Stone Goblin tribes often establish "rock fields" around their lairs. These fields contain dozens of motionless Stone Goblins waiting for unsuspecting adventurers to wander through before launching a coordinated ambush.
